As reported by The Evening Chronicle, Bolton Wanderers are set to miss out on the loan signing of Adam Armstrong. The article states:
"Bolton Wanderers look set to miss out on Newcastle United youngster Adam Armstrong this summer. The Macron Stadium outfit wanted the England Under-20 international on loan but are unlikely to be able to afford to pay a percentage of Armstrong’s wages.
United want to send the 20-year-old out on another loan deal following previous stints at Coventry City and Barnsley."
I'm sure there will be other striking options available.
It's been rumoured on twitter that Adam Armstrong will instead move to Preston North End on a season long loan.
Meanwhile, Wanderers remain in the pursuit of Australian captain Mark Milligan, with talks scheduled to happen this week.
Bolton are also hoping to tie up the loan deals of West Ham United's Josh Cullen and Reece Burke, both of whom played under Phil Parkinson at Bradford.
