Transfer Gossip: Bolton Wanderers hand trial to RC Lens striker

Habib Habibou is reportedly on trial

According to French site Foot Mercato, Bolton Wanderers have handed a trial to RC Lens striker, Habib Habibou.

The article states:

"According to our information, Habib Habibou is currently being tested in Bolton. The Championship welcomes the footballer born in 87 until Wednesday.

The opportunity for the one who benefits from a good exit on the part of Lens to show all its qualities and convince Bolton definitely to bet on him."

Habibou, 30, started his career with French giants PSG. He has since gone on to play in Belgium, France, Turkey and England, having had a loan spell with Leeds Unitedback in 2013.

Despite only signing a two year deal with Lens in January, Habibou is set to leave due to a release clause. Habibou scored six goals in 13 games for Lens.

One interesting factor that was featured in an article was the fact that Habib Habibou has just been sentenced to two years in prison. An article from Le Soir stated:

"The attacker of RC Lens Habib Habibou was sentenced to two years in prison and 12,000 euros in fine in Belgium according to the newspaper Le Soir. Habib Habibou, an RC Lens striker, was sentenced to two years suspended sentence, 12,000 fines and a five-year driving ban, according to Le Soir. In issue, an arrest in Dilbeek (Belgium) last May. Habibou was driving without a license and without a seat belt."

The Belgian newspaper said it was his 30th conviction for a total of 85 offenses!
