Transfer Gossip: Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper wanted by Manchester United and Everton

Jake Turner is a player in demand

According to The Sun, Bolton Wanderers’ young starlet Jake Turner is wanted by both Manchester United and Everton.

The article in The Sun states:

“MANCHESTER UNITED are plotting a surprise swoop for Bolton’s England youth keeper Jake Turner.

They see the 18-year-old as a potential No 1 choice in the next few years.

Wanderers have only just put Turner on a full-time contract and he was on the bench last season.

United boss Jose Mourinho wants to coach him for the future at Old Trafford.

Everton also rate Turner highly, but United have the lead in the race.

Bolton will take the biggest offer.

United have been tipped off by some of the FA coaching staff about the quality of the Cheshire-born Under-18 cap.

And they are poised to pounce before Turner starts a senior game.”

It would be some blow to Wanderers if Jake Turner were to leave. The young goalkeeper is seen as perhaps the clubs best youth prospect, having already played for England’s U18 side.

United have also been linked with a move for Wanderers’ U18 star Max Broughton.
