According to reports in The Sun today, Bolton Wanderers are eyeing up a move for former Blackburn Rovers midfielder, Jason Lowe.
The article in the paper states:
“He wants to snap up midfield dynamo Jason Lowe after he left neighbours Blackburn.
Lowe, 25, was skipper at Rovers in their relegation campaign and they let him go in May to cut his wages from their payroll.
Bolton are prepared to offer him more than £500,000-a-year despite their financial troubles.
Parkinson sees Lowe as a replacement for Jay Spearing — who failed to agree a new contract — and hopes to sort out a deal in the next couple of days.
Nottingham Forest are also watching.”
Jason Lowe, 25, is a free agent after departing Blackburn Rovers in the Summer due to their relegation to League One.
The dynamic midfielder spent fourteen years at Ewood Park, coming up the youth ranks before becoming a mainstay in Rovers’ first team.
Capped at England U21 level, Lowe played 196 times for Blackburn, scoring once.
Lowe seems like a great replacement for Spearing.
Jason Lowe has been on trial with Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, and played for Tony Pulis’ side on their pre-season tour of Austria.
If he’s attracting serious interest from Premier League sides, it’s safe to assume that Lowe would be seen as quite a coup for Wanderers.
It’s also worth noting I had Jason Lowe as one of five potential replacements for Jay Spearing in an article recently.
So, would Jason Lowe be a good signing for Wanderers? Let us know in the comments box below.
