According to numerous sources from the French media, Bolton Wanderers are interested in RC Lens striker, Habib Habibou. An article states:
"Forward Habib Habibou will be in contact with the Bolton Wanderers. He should no longer play for RC Lens, the club having promised to release him if he did not climb. Having scored seven goals in thirteen games in the second half of the season, Habib Habibou is not expected to stay in Lens beyond six months.
Indeed, the club and the player had agreed to separate if the accession was not at the end of the road. The 30-year-old striker, who ends his vacation, would have a touch with the Bolton Wanderers, according to English media."
Habibou, 30, started his career with French giants PSG. He has since gone on to play in Belgium, France, Turkey and England, having had a loan spell with Leeds United back in 2013.
Despite only signing a two year deal with Lens in January, Habibou is set to leave due to a release clause. Habibou scored six goals in 13 games for Lens.
One interesting factor that was featured in an article was the fact that Habib Habibou has just been sentenced to two years in prison. An article from Le Soir stated:
"The attacker of RC Lens Habib Habibou was sentenced to two years in prison and 12,000 euros in fine in Belgium according to the newspaper Le Soir. Habib Habibou, an RC Lens striker, was sentenced to two years suspended sentence, 12,000 fines and a five-year driving ban, according to Le Soir. In issue, an arrest in Dilbeek (Belgium) last May. Habibou was driving without a license and without a seat belt."
The Belgian newspaper said it was his 30th conviction for a total of 85 offenses!
So, I'll put this rumour in the 'highly doubt' section.
Anyway, here's a video of Habibou taking a duck off a football pitch.
