Transfer Gossip: Wanderers linked with former Blackburn star Gamst Pedersen

More out-dated comedy than a genuine possibility

A joke which was dead and buried long ago has been revived this afternoon in a tweet courtesy of 'Terrace Talk' who claimed that Bolton Wanderers are considering signing ex-Blackburn Rovers midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen despite him settling at his boyhood club at the ripe age of 35.

I'm still unsure which joke this has been a parody of more, the one which has made it so much easier to link ex-Rovers players to Bolton in recent years, or that, according to these extremely unfunny football banter pages, we only ever sign players over the age of 34. Either way, the midfielder, who I must admit, had one hell of a left foot on him in his day, is very unlikely to be set to move to Wanderers in the coming days, or ever, for that matter.

Despite the recent links to former Arsenal man Julio 'The Beast' Baptista arising, the pace at which that rumour alone disintegrated suggests that the days which saw us signing the clinical Emile Heskey and the re-signing of the vintage gem that was Eidur Gudjohnsen have now passed... hopefully.

Back in his prime, Pedersen may well have been worth sniffing around, so unless this is an incredibly slow news day, there's not much room for forgiveness in this one, unfortunately. With this being the only sign of the link between the player and the club, I can't see this one taking off, despite that this material must've been sourced from somewhere unless its just completely made up, in which case, ignore me.

There must only be a few left to be linked with now that haven't already retired from the golden 2000 era, who's next? Kanu maybe?

Remember, not all the stories we post are set in stone and as you can probably can tell, this one is purely for comedic value, so before you slate me in the comments for clickbait rubbish, take this one with a pinch of salt eh lads and lasses?
