Transfer News: Bolton Wanderers set to sign Bristol City striker

Aaron Wilbraham is going to become a Wanderer

As just revealed by The Bolton News, Bolton Wanderers are set to complete the free signing of Bristol City striker Aaron Wilbraham.

Despite only signing a year one extension last month, Wilbraham is set to move North to join Wanderers. Wilbraham has already been in training with the squad at Lostock.

The Bolton News also reported that a short term deal for former Arsenal and Real Madrid playmaker Julio ‘The Best’ Baptista is in the works.

So, who is Aaron Wilbraham?

Well, 37 year old Wilbraham began his career with Stockport County in 1995. After making his debut in 1997, Wilbraham spent seven years with County before moving to Hull City in 2004. Spells with Oldham Athletic, MK Dons, Bradford City, Norwich City, Crystal Palace followed, before he joined Bristol City in 2014.

Wilbraham has scored 119 goals in 496 games, and will be brought in as backup to Gary Madine.

Aaron Wilbraham has a wealth of experience he can bring to Wanderers, having been part of the Norwich and Crystal Palace sides that gained promotion to the Premier League in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
