According to Sky Sports, Bolton Wanderers are eyeing a move for free agent midfielder Karl Henry, who was released by Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.

Sky Sports sources stated:

“HENRY TRAINING WITH BOLTON

Karl Henry is training with Bolton, with a view to a possible move, according to Sky sources.

The former Stoke, Wolves, and QPR midfielder Karl Henry is a free-agent after being released from Loftus Road this summer.”

Now 34, Karl Henry has plenty of experience playing in the Premier League and The Championship.

Henry boats over 500 league appearances in England, beginning his career with Stoke City before moving on to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers.

Karl Henry definitely has a reputation as a midfield enforcer, and obviously Phil Parkinson eyes him as Jay Spearing’s replacement.

Wanderers have clearly lacked a bite in midfield, and a player like Henry could give Josh Cullen and Jem Karacan more protection.

Henry has been training with West Bromwich Albion in an effort to keep fit, so would be able to come straight in if he is signed.

So, do you think Karl Henry would be a good signing for Wanderers? Let us know in the comments box below.
