As reported by The Bolton News, Cardiff City have had a bid rejected by Bolton Wanderers for top goalscorer Gary Madine.
The article from The BN this morning stated:
“The Bolton News understands the Welsh club made a “seven-figure” bid for the nine-goal target man last week but were told he is not for sale.”
Wanderers cannot afford to let Madine go.
He’s vital to the way Bolton play, as well as being Wanderers’ top goalscorer. Madine is in the form of his life, and to sell him would basically throw away any chance Bolton have of staying in the Championship.
With Sunderland also apparently interested in Madine, I doubt this will be the last we hear about him possibly leaving this January.
Speculation in the media has stated Wanderers value Gary Madine at around £3 million, so you have to assume Cardiff’s offer was well below that value.
Do you think Wanderers will hold on to Madine? Let us know in the comments box below.
