Bolton Wanderers’ legendary goalkeeper Jussi Jääskeläinen has been released by Indian side ATK, as revealed by Goal.
Goal stated in an article:
“Former Bolton Wanderers custodian Jaaskelainen made just one appearance for the side, with head coach Teddy Sheringham opting to go with Indian goalkeeper Debjit Majumder in between the sticks.”
Jääskeläinen’s sole appearance for Atlético de Kolkata came against Jamshedpur FC, where he kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw. 42 and still bossing it, of course.
Jaaskelainen with a top save!

ATK boss Teddy Sheringham has signed former Delhi Dynamos goalkeeper Soram Poirei as Jussi’s replacement.
Sheringham has also strengthened his side with former Birmingham City and Wales international winger David Cotterill, as well as former Port Vale and Burnley striker Martin Paterson.

Jussi wasn’t the only former Wanderers playing for ATK. Former Manchester United youth player Tom Thorpe is also on the sides books.
Now aged 42, has Jussi just left his last club? Or is there one more move? Possibly back to Wanderers on a non-contract basis for one last game.
Or as a coach. Who knows.
Anyway, here’s a five minute compilation of the best saves Jussi made at Wanderers. Enjoy.
