According to The Daily Mirror, Bolton Wanderers face a battle to keep hold of West Ham United defender Reece Burke.

The article from The Mirror states:

“Reece Burke is returning to West Ham as Bolton face competition from a host of Championship clubs to keep hold of the young defender.

His temporary deal came to an end this week and he has gone back to the London Stadium, where he could yet win over new Hammers boss David Moyes.

Sunderland are understood to have registered an interest, along with Nottingham Forest, Barnsley and Sheffield United. Promotion-chasing Derby County are also keen on Burke.”

Reports online have stated that with the loan deals of both Reece Burke and Josh Cullen due to expire this week, Wanderers have opened talks with West Ham about keeping the pair for the rest of the season.

Both players have played big roles in Wanderers’ last two wins against Sheffield United and Hull City.

Burke has scored once in fifteen games this season, whilst Cullen has played twelve times.

An article from The Bolton News this morning suggested that Wanderers may look to offload the likes of Dorian Dervite and Derik Osede, so Bolton could really do with keeping Cullen and Burke.
