What a win. What a start to 2018. Out of the bottom three with a 1-0 victory over East Yorkshire’s “giants”. I fucking love it.
Let’s be honest, there was only ever going to be one man to win this, and that, ladies and gents, is Gary Madine.
He often comes under fire does our Gaz, but my God has he pulled us out of the shit recently. He looks like a completely different player this season, notching up nine goals so far with plenty of games left; he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
I feel like a broken record here because I’ve said this a million times, but I think it’s becoming much clearer now: our attack cannot function without Madine. Our style of play does not work without him. It’s simply not the Parky way. He is by far one of our most important players. If you can’t see that, you’re an idiot.
As I said earlier, Madine comes under fire more than most players, but he’s really showing how good he can be at the moment. He battles for every ball. He works his bollocks off for 90 minutes, week in, week out. He scores goals (finally). He roughs up defenders and hassles the opposition, forcing them into fouls and tackles. I’m pretty sure he won the free kick that he then scored against Hull, which, by the way, was one hell of a strike.
In summary, Gary Madine is currently our in-form man, and the one player I’m currently most worried of losing in January. He deserves this week’s Man Of The Match award more than anyone else, and I hope to God his form continues for months to come.
Viva Washing Machine. Viva Gary Madine.
