Take this with a pinch of salt, but rumour has it that Bolton Wanderers are hoping to bring in West Ham United wonderkid Domingos Quina on loan.
Having already had their fingertips burnt to an extent with the loan signings of his Hammers teammates Reece Burke and Josh Cullen, most Wanderers fans could be forgiven for not getting too carried away by this news. Plus, the fact that he’s never made a senior league appearance - as was the case with Everton loanee Harry Charsley when he signed earlier this month - also isn’t ideal.
However, the 18-year-old Portugal youth international, who was born in Guinea-Bisseau and came through the Benfica and Chelsea youth academies, is considered hot property at the East London club.
To find out more about the youngster we spoke to resident West Ham fan Joe Connell (@The_Ironworks_), who told us:
“I don’t want to tempt fate again, since it didn’t really work out with our other lads. But he’s very highly regarded at West Ham and some of the big boys have been sniffing around.
“He’s a very tricky player but he needs to bulk up big tie. I think the Championship might be too physical for him but his talent could get him through.”
I think a move for Quina seems unlikely, given we already have Charsley on loan, and I’d much prefer us to bring in Chung-Yong Lee if there’s any truth in the rumours that he’s available from Crystal Palace. His first-team experience is definitely required in our bid to avoid relegation, and we can’t really afford the luxury of another young, untested player - regardless of how talented he could be.
So, what do we think Bolton fans? Quina, Chungy... Who would you like to see Bolton sign before the end of the transfer deadline?
