I usually get a bit excited about seeing Jim White donning his yellow tie and the madness that surrounds Transfer Deadline Day. But today, well, I’m not. I feel gutted.

For the third transfer window in the last four, and for the second January Transfer Deadline Day in a row, Bolton Wanderers look set to sell their best player.

Yes, Bolton fans, history does repeat itself. And it’s about to.

Gary Madine looks set to leave the Macron in a reported £6 million deal to fellow Championship side Cardiff City. While that would be the third highest transfer fee Bolton have ever recouped (mad isn’t it?), it leaves us absolutely up against it for the rest of the season - especially as we dropped back into the relegation zone last night.

Indeed, in the 10 games Gary Madine didn’t play last season, we won... erm... zero. So, the need for a striker is an absolute must on this Transfer Deadline Day.

We’ll keep you updated on all the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip from Wanderers and wider afield in the Comments section below.

Feel free to chip in with your own thoughts on Madine, how we should reinvest the cash - if you even suspect that’s a reality - and all things Wanderers related.
