Deadline Day: Bolton Wanderers have bid rejected for Charlton Athletic striker

We’re spending money?

Charlton Athletic v Bolton Wanderers - Sky Bet League One - The Valley

As reported by South London Press writer Richard Cawley, Bolton Wanderers have had a bid rejected for Charlton Athletic striker, Josh Magennis.

So who is Josh Magennis?

Well, the 27 year old Northern Ireland international signed for Charlton Athletic in the Summer of 2016 for an undisclosed fee.

Magennis has scored 15 times for Charlton in 70 games, not the greatest goalscoring record.

The striker has also played 33 times for Northern Ireland, scoring four goals.

With the departure of top goalscorer Gary Madine to Cardiff City seemingly inevitable, Wanderers are looking for the right replacement.

Feyenoord striker Michiel Kramer didn’t want to join Bolton, so the club are looking far and wide for a striker.

As I write this, there are just over four hours to go in the window, so let’s hope Bolton can sign a couple players to fill the void left by Madine.

Also, a bid rejected? Wanderers have actually offered a fee for a player? Madness.

Would Josh Magennis be a good replacement for Gary Madine? Let us know in the comments box below.
