Transfer Gossip: Bolton Wanderers offer contract to Plymouth Argyle midfielder

A new midfielder joining Wanderers?

Plymouth Argyle v Shrewsbury Town - Sky Bet League One

As reported by The Plymouth Herald, Bolton Wanderers have offered a contract to Plymouth Argyle midfielder Toumani Diagouraga, whose contract expires at the weekend.

The story from The Herald states:

“Derek Adams is still holding out hope that midfielder Toumani Diagouraga will stay at Plymouth Argyle, and not only until the end of the current campaign but into next season as well.

Herald Sport understands that 30-year-old Diagouraga could leave the Pilgrims after the game against Bury at Home Park on Saturday.

That is when his current short-term contract ends, and there are offers on the table for him from four clubs – Bolton Wanderers in the Championship, plus three in League One.

Argyle have offered Diagouraga both six and 18-month contracts in an attempt to keep him at Home Park.”

Diagouraga could be a very good signing for Wanderers. The Frenchman has clocked up over 400 appearances in English football, and would be an experienced option for Wanderers to consider.

Plus, with Darren Pratley potentially facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Diagouraga would be the perfect replacement.
