So Bolton Wanderers have just lost their tenth game of the season, a demoralizing, turgid, 1-0 at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday.
After a fairly even (albeit dire and painful) first half, a Tom Lees header in the 57th minute set the writing on the wall.
It’s now 74 games since Bolton came from behind to win a league game & that was in League One against Northampton Town. Tonight’s defeat meant that Bolton have gone goalless in ten of their last fifteen games, collecting just seven points from the last FIFTEEN games.
That wonderful start to the season seems a lifetime ago. It’s invasion of the body snatchers. Where have the players gone who caught West Bromwich Albion off guard?
Whether or not you want a change in manager, is the squad really up for the challenge of staying up? At this moment in time, you have to think no.
Hopefully we’ll have all calmed down at 5 on Saturday provided Bolton get a result in the local derby vs Wigan. I really hope the players can prove they’re up for the fight.
Otherwise, League One beckons.
