Your favourite mascot released a single fifteen years ago

The other day, I noticed something on my CD rack which had not caught my attention in many, many years.

It was a copy of Lofty the Lion’s one and only single, Let’s Rock This Town, released back in 2003.

Whilst Big Sam had assembled a team of Jay-Jay Okocha, Youri Djorkaeff, Bruno N’Gotty, Stelios Giannakopoulos, Kevin Nolan and more to play on the pitch, Bolton Wanderers’ beloved mascot was busy off the pitch.

Taking a break from winding up Wolves fans and diving on the side of the pitch during games, Lofty was hard at work on his music career.

With Pitch Invasion, Lofty released his single ‘Let’s Rock This Town’, which was a three track CD. The other two songs on the CD were dance remixes of the original song.

You may remember the song for having such wonderful lyrics as ‘He’s the best in the nation, the king of the beasts and ‘He works his magic on the Super Whites fans, nearly 30,000 in the palm of his hands’.

Fifteen years on, for your listening pleasure, I present the masterpiece that is Lofty the Lion vs Pitch Invasion - Let’s Rock This Town.

If you’ve heard it before, i’m sure it’ll bring back some memories. If you haven’t heard it, listen and enjoy!
