Player Ratings: Leeds United 2-1 Bolton Wanderers

How did Wanderers fare at Elland Road?

Bolton Wanderers’ unbeaten away run came to an end at Elland Road yesterday, as they lost 2-1 to Leeds United.

Here are my player ratings from the game:

Ben Alnwick - 7.5

Produced a couple of fantastic saves to keep Wanderers in the game. Flapped at some corners, but another impressive performance from Alnwick.

Andrew Taylor - 5

Couldn’t cope at all with the pace of Ezgjan Alioski. Bit of an off day for Taylor.

Reece Burke - 6.5

Decent outing from Burke, looked comfortable when on the ball.

Mark Beevers - 6

Coped alright enough, but didn’t look as comfortable as Burke

Jon Flanagan - 6

Got forward a lot, but was guilty of some sloppy passing. Could have done better to clear the ball before Leeds’ second goal.

Derik - 6.5

Another decent outing from Derik. Made more tackles than any other Wanderer, but was caught out of position a couple times.

Jan Kirchhoff - 6

Perhaps guilty of venturing too far forward like Derik. Looked composed on the ball, but hit a couple of wayward passes.

Sammy Ameobi - 6

Put in a great ball for Le Fondre’s goal and could have equalised for Wanderers.

Will Buckley - 5.5

Started brightly, but wasn’t as good as he was against Villa. Might have done better with a chance in the second half.

Josh Vela - 6

Probably Wanderers’ best player in the first half, but went missing in the second.

Adam Le Fondre - 7

Grabbed himself another goal with a great header and chased after everything. Barely had a chance on goal.

SUBS

Filipe Morais - 5.5

Tried his best but probably didn’t get the ball as much as he would have liked.

Aaron Wilbraham - 5.5

Unfortunately, Wilbraham couldn’t repeat his Hillsborough heroics.

Zach Clough - N/A

Came on too late to make an impact.
