Nowhere to run to, nowhere to hide

Thank you Nottingham Forest

God bless Nottingham Forest. Aitor Karanka’s side have just beaten Barnsley 3-0, thanks to goals from Lee Tomlin, Ben Brereton and Apostolos Vellios.

The result means that Bolton Wanderers remain in 21st position, so thank you very much Nottingham Forest. Barnsley’s game in hand has been looming for some time.

Now everyone is on a level playing field.

There are just two games to go in the season.

Forget the fact that Wanderers have been poor since coming back from the international break. That doesn’t matter now.

The only thing that matters is that Wanderers don’t have to rely on anybody to stay in The Championship. They win their remaining games, they stay up. It really is in Wanderers’ own hands.

This should be the motivation Bolton need going into Saturday’s game at Burton. If Wanderers win and Barnsley don’t against play-off chasing Brentford, Wanderers are safe.

Our season comes down to these two remaining games against Burton and Forest.

Let’s get the job done and stay up.

We can do it!
