Bolton Wanderers have just squandered their best chance of staying in the Championship, by losing 2-0 to Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.
First half goals from Hope Akpan and Lucas Akins were enough for Burton to take home all three points, on a day when Bolton Wanderers were desperate for the win.
It was a disastrous day from all sides. The players lacked conviction and an eye for goal, Parky's tactics didn't work and there was unrest and fighting amongst fans.
To not even manage a shot on goal in the most important game of the season speaks volumes.
It doesn't matter how well Wanderers played from October to March. There's 46 games in a Championship season, and to collapse in the manner that Bolton have in the past month has been disconcerting to see.
Wanderers could still stay up, but they would have to beat Forest and rely on Barnsley and Burton not to.
After a gutless performance like that, there's a slim chance of that happening.
