With Bolton Wanderers fans waiting for the retained list to be the released, Jem Karacan has become the first player to announce his departure.
The midfielder took to twitter to say:
“Proud to have been a part of @OfficialBWFC over the last 15 months. It was great to have been involved in the club returning to the championship and then staying in the division. Will miss being amongst such a great set of lads. Thanks to the fans & good luck for next season.”

Jem Karacan joined Wanderers last March on a short term deal after leaving Galatasaray, before signing a one year deal for this season.
In total for Wanderers, Karacan scored two goals in twenty-three appearances, even captaining the side in the League Cup in the 3-2 win against Sheffield Wednesday.
Karacan’s best moment in a Bolton shirt came in the game against Peterborough United on the last day of the 16/17 season, opening the scoring as Wanderers sealed promotion.
I don’t think we ever saw the best of Jem Karacan enough, mainly due to the form and Parky’s preference of Karl Henry and Darren Pratley throughout the season.
Everyone at LOV wishes Jem the best of luck with the rest of his career. Thanks for the memories.
