A bit of surprising news this afternoon.
Bolton Wanderers have just announced that Filipe Morais will not be offered a new deal, and will depart the club at the end of the month.
The story from the official site stated:
“Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Filipe Morais will not be offered a new deal when his contract with the club concludes at the end of the month.
The club would like to thank Filipe for his contributions and wishes him well for the future.”
After joining the club for fee in February 2017, Morais played a key role in helping Wanderers gain promotion to The Championship.
In nineteen League One games, Morais managed an astounding two goals and fourteen assists. The highlight was the 4-0 win away at Gillingham, where Morais managed to assist every single goal.
Filipe Morais. Six assists in two games. What a man, what a player #bwfc

Though his impact wasn’t as great last season, Morais leaves Wanderers a cult hero & a player that will certainly be missed.
Thanks for the memories, Fil!
