According to Alan Nixon of The Sun, Bolton Wanderers are reportedly eyeing up moves for two players; Burton Albion midfielder Hope Akpan and Bradford City striker, Charlie Wyke.

26 year old Hope Akpan’s deal with Burton Albion expires at the end of the month, so would be available for free should Wanderers’ interest ring to be true.

The defensive minded midfielder scored twice in 29 games for Burton last season, one of which was against Wanderers in that disastrous performance at the Pirelli.

Whilst being born in Liverpool, the former Everton, Reading FC and Blackburn Rovers player has represented Nigeria at international level, having been capped four times.

Meanwhile the other player linked is Bradford City striker, Charlie Wyke.

The 25 year old former Middlesbrough and Carlisle United striker joined Bradford in January 2017. In 62 games for Bradford, Wyke has scored 23 goals.

Whether or not Wanderers would be able to make a sufficient bid for Wyke remains to be seen.

With just Adam Le Fondre and Connor Hall on the books for Wanderers, it’s paramount that the club brings in a new forward, someone to finally replace Gary Madine.

Obviously as these are just rumours, nothing is official until you see the player on the club site holding up a shirt/scarf.

So, do you think Hope Akpan & Charlie Wyke would be good signings for Wanderers? Let us know in the comments box below.
