The dynamic midfielder spent fourteen years at Ewood Park, coming up the youth ranks before becoming a mainstay in Rovers’ first team.
Capped at England U21 level, Lowe played 196 times for Blackburn, scoring once.
Lowe was then linked with a move to Wanderers last season after leaving Blackburn, but was snapped up instead by Harry Redknapp for Birmingham.
Under three managers, Lowe only played eleven times in all competitions.
Upon his arrival at Bolton, Lowe told Wanderers’ official site:
“It’s great to be here. The club has a lot of history and loads of my friends support them. I’m excited to be here and looking forward to getting going.
“There’s a great fan base here and I hope we can give them something to shout about this coming season.”
Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson also added:
“I’m really pleased to be welcoming Jason to Bolton Wanderers Football Club. He’s at a good age and is a player who has captained teams before in the Championship.
“He knows his way around the division and has good leadership qualities.”
Welcome to Bolton Wanderers Jason from everyone at LOV.
