After being spotted on the train leaving Manchester earlier today, former Bolton Wanderers winger Filipe Morais has confirmed his move to Crawley Town.
Signing a three year deal (good on you, Fil), the wing-back/winger joined Wanderers on a free from League One strugglers Bradford City during our own short stint in the division, earning a place in all our hearts along the way.
A hard working and energetic presence in the side, he found game time harder to come by in the Championship but his non-stop running and endeavour was always guaranteed no matter what role was asked of him.
Moving down to League Two makes sense for a man of his 32 years, but it still would not have come as a shock to this writer had he ended back at BL6 this summer. You don’t get too many versatile players such as he on the market for long.
I have no doubts whatsoever he’ll soon be as popular at Crawley as he was at Bolton.
Good luck Fil, and thank you for your service.
