According to reports from The Scottish Sun, former Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon is eyeing a move for ALF.
The article from The Scottish Sun states:
“HIBS boss Neil Lennon is weighing up a move for Bolton attacker Adam Le Fondre.
The 31-year-old previously worked with him during the Northern Irishman’s stint at the Macron Stadium in 2015.
Lenny is looking to bolster his attacking options following the exits of Simon Murray and loan star Jamie Maclaren.
Former Reading, Cardiff and Wolves hitman Le Fondre scored seven times in 38 appearances last season.”
It’s not really surprising that Lennon would be linked with a move for ALF. Le Fondre was in scintillating form when Lennon was Wanderers manager, scoring eight times in seventeen games in the 2014/15 season.
Wanderers were relegated the season after, due in part to the fact that Wanderers couldn’t afford to bring Le Fondre back. At the time, fans even tried to fund the move with a GoFundMe page.
ALF moved to Bolton to be closer to home, so would he really fancy a move up to the Scottish capital? Whilst Hibs could offer the prospect of European football, would ALF want to reunite with Neil Lennon? I’ve no doubt Le Fondre would be lethal in the SPL.
As it stands, Adam Le Fondre is Bolton Wanderers’ best striker. Adam Le Fondre is a cult hero & a fans favourite at Wanderers. If Lennon is genuinely after him, selling him would be an absolutely ludicrous decision.
