According to internet rumours & sources close to LOV, we’re led to believe that Bolton Wanderers are set to sign former Stoke City, Bournemouth and Sunderland player, Marc Wilson.

Wilson is a free agent after leaving Sunderland at the end of last season.

Marc Wilson, 30, began his career with Manchester United before turning professional with Portsmouth in 2006.

After a few loan spells, Wilson established himself as a first team player at Fratton Park, before moving to Stoke City in 2010.

Wilson played 178 times for Stoke, before a move to Bournemouth in 2016. After half a season, Wilson moved on loan to West Bromwich Albion.

He was released in 2017 and signed for Sunderland on a free, making twenty-two appearances.

Marc Wilson is also an international footballer, having played twenty-five times for the Republic of Ireland.

Comfortable playing as a centre back or a defensive midfielder, Wilson offers Wanderers a lot of versatility. If needed, he can also play across defence. At 30, Wilson has bags of experience playing in the Premier League & Football League.

Wanderers have been looking for extra players in midfield and defence, something Wilson ticks both boxes of.
