According to reports from site Football Insider, Bolton Wanderers are closing in on the signing of Everton midfielder, Joe Williams.
The article states:
“Everton central midfielder Joe Williams is closing in on a transfer to Bolton Wanderers, Football Insider sources understands. A number of Championship clubs, including Bristol City, Birmingham City and Hull City have expressed an interest in Williams this summer, but Bolton are in pole position to land the highly-rated Everton midfielder. A well placed source has told Football Insider that the move of the 21-year-old to the north-west outfit is more likely to be a loan than a permanent deal.”
The highly rated youngster, who was on loan at Barnsley last season, could be seen as quite a coup for Wanderers.
Central midfielder Williams played 38 times for Barnsley last season, impressing in a relegated side.
For Wanderers to beat several teams to his signature can only be seen as a good thing.
This deal would make the Charlie Adam rumours seem less likely now.
