Transfer Gossip: Wanderers’ loan bid rejected for West Ham wonderkid

According to reports online from ExWHUemployee, Bolton Wanderers attempted to sign West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford on loan.

ExWHUemployee stated on the West Ham Way:

“Reece Oxford has expressed his “love” for the club this week too. This coincides with no clubs making an offer to loan him apart from Bolton who only offered 70% wages and his agent wasn’t keen for him to go there. It is hoped by both Reece and his agent (who is also the recently departed Quina’s agent too) that a German team would move for him and Leipzig had scouted him at a recent under 23s game but he didn’t perform well at all and certainly didn’t look like a man who loved the club.”

So it seems that Wanderers weren’t an attractive option for Oxford’s agent. Not sure when Wanderers made a loan bid.

Oxford, 19, is a player with loads of potential and is also a player that is comfortable playing as a centre back or defensive midfielder.

It’s a shame, but not the end of the world that we couldn’t sign Oxford. Wanderers have plenty of cover at centre back and midfield. Joe Williams looks a really good prospect and bit of a coup for the club.
