Joint top of the league after four matches - how good does that sound? Bolton Wanderers will look to continue their strong start to the campaign up against Sheffield United at the University of Bolton Stadium this afternoon.
Both sides exchanged 1-0 away victories last season, although Bolton have won four of the last six meetings between the two.
Phil Parkinson makes several changes with wingers Will Buckley and Sammy Ameobi returning to the starting line-up alongside Luke Murphy and Josh Vela, while there’s a debut at left-back for Jonathan Grounds. New loanee Ryan Williams takes his place on the bench alongside Erhun Oztumer and Yanic Wilschut, who both drop out of the starting eleven.
Sheffield United have had a decent start to the season, having lost their first two league games they’ve since won their last two including last weekend’s home victory over Norwich City - since which they’ve had more of a rest than Bolton, who played mid-week. They look to be playing a 4-4-2 with a midfield lacking an obvious wide player and Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke leading the attack. Former Wanderer Chris Basham marshalls the midfield, while Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn is named among the subs alongside former Ipswich Town forward David McGoldrick.
Here are today’s starting line-ups. You can follow all the action in the Comments section below, where you can also let us know your thoughts on all things Wanderers related.
