After waiting all Deadline day for a signing, Bolton Wanderers have finally announced the arrival of their new striker.

And it’s Forest Green forward, Christian Doidge. The Welshman has joined Wanderers on an initial loan, that will become permanent in January for a seven figure fee.

That’s right, Bolton have spent a £1 million on a player. What a world.

Doidge joined Forest Green in 2016 & went on to score 56 goals in 99 games. The forward scored 20 goals last season in League Two, and has scored four in five games this season.

Upon his arrival, Doidge told Wanderers’ official site:

“I’m just buzzing to get the move done,” he said. “It’s been a stressful couple of days, but it’s an absolute dream to get it finally get it over the line.

“To have the opportunity to play Championship football for a massive club like Bolton Wanderers is what I’ve dreamt of and I can’t wait to get stuck in and learn from the other lads to hopefully do well for the club.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead – I can’t wait to learn from the manager and his staff as I look to improve as much as I can.”

Welcome to Bolton, Christian!

Also just announced, Connor Hall has gone on loan to Accrington Stanley for the season. Good luck Connor!
