A double Brum swoop?

According to The Birmingham Mail, Bolton Wanderers are lining up a double loan swoop for Birmingham City’s David Stockdale & Jonathan Grounds.

The article states:

“Bolton Wanderers are lining up a double deal for Birmingham City pair David Stockdale and Jonathan Grounds.

The Championship rivals are in discussions over loans that would see Stockdale move on after just one season at Blues and Grounds after four.

Both have been told they are not in Garry Monk’s plans and Blues are looking to create budgetary headroom to comply with FFP regulations.

That means it is highly possible both could move on, if not before tomorrow’s deadline for permanent signings, then by the loan deadline of August 31.

However, Bolton are likely to want to finalise their squad sooner rather than later.

An agreement is yet to be reached but BirminghamLive understands negotiations are ongoing.”

Wanderers are in the market for a new goalie and a left back, so it looks like they’ve found them.

32 year old David Stockdale has over 400 career appearances in English football, playing for Fulham, Brighton and Birmingham most notably.

30 year old left back Jonathan Grounds began his career with Middlesbrough, and has spent the last four years with Birmingham.
