So FIFA 19 is out tomorrow. A couple of weeks back the Wanderers ratings for this years edition were revealed, with Mark Beevers and Sammy Ameobi sharing the honour of being the highest rated player - 71.

With the release of the newest FIFA so close, it made me think back to a time when Wanderers were half decent.

So here is the best Bolton Wanderers FIFA XI, made up of the best players from the last fifteen years of the video game:

(4-3-3)

GK: Jussi Jaaskelainen - 84 (FIFA 10)

Wanderers’ legendary big Finn was always one of the highest rated players year after year. Jussi peaked on FIFA 10, with a rating of 84 - the best rating for any Wanderers player ever.

LB: Vincent Candela - 80 (FIFA 05)

The World Cup winning Frenchman may have only been at Wanderers for half a season, but he’s still the best left back the club have had on FIFA (sadly it wasn’t Ricardo).

CB: Bruno N’Gotty - 79 (FIFA 05)

Brunoooo. The Frenchman was Bolton’s best centre back on FIFA 05, beating the likes of Fernando Hierro, Radhi Jaidi and Tal Ben Haim.

CB: Gary Cahill - 83 (FIFA 11)

Before he won everything possible with Chelsea, Gary Cahill was consistently one of the best and highest rated players for Bolton for years. He peaked on FIFA 11, where his rating eventually rose as high as 83.

The Icelandic fullback is the only Wanderers right back to really get a decent FIFA rating. He was a 75 twice, in FIFA 09 & 12.

CM: Iván Campo - 79 (FIFA 05)

The Spanish midfield maestro was pretty much rated 79 his entire time at Wanderers.

CM: Stuart Holden - 82 (FIFA 11)

Holden was one of the standout players in the 2010/11 season, not just for Bolton, but the Premier League. His commanding performances in midfield earned him the eventual rating of 82.

CAM: Jay-Jay Okocha - 83 (FIFA 06)

The Nigerian wizard was Bolton’s highest rated player in both FIFA 05 and 06. He peaked on the latter, being gifted a rating of 83.

LF: El-Hadji Diouf - 81 (FIFA 07)

Dioufy peaked on FIFA 07 & 08, earning a rating of 81. In the 2006/07 season, he helped Wanderers qualify for Europe. The year after, he scored the decisive goal against Sunderland to keep Bolton in the Premier League.

RF: Nicolas Anelka - 83 (FIFA 08)

Anelka has stated he played his best football at Bolton, and that was reflected in his FIFA 08 rating. He was by far and away the best Wanderers player that year, with a rating of 83.

ST: Johan Elmander - 82 (FIFA 11)

In his final year at Wanderers, Elmander showed the kind of goalscoring prowess that fans had been expecting for his first two years. For his form, his eventual rating went up to 82.

So there you have it, Wanderers best FIFA XI ever.
