After what has been the most mental week in Bolton Wanderers’ history I can only applaud those fans who made the horrendous trip to Bristol to watch the Whites against Bristol City yesterday.
Bristol is a fucking horrible place to drive to, so well done.
That said, my nomination isn’t purely based on the fact that it’s a shocking place to get to (and drive round - that one-way system is a joke) but Wanderers fans have had to put up with all sorts of crap this week thanks to chairman Ken Anderson and his management of the club.
Bolton have become a very hard club to love in the years since Anderson arrived. There can be little doubt that he has had a tough job and that he has also had some very difficult decisions to make but that doesn’t excuse the way that he has dragged the club’s name through the mud lately.
I just pray that Wanderers can find a solution. Obviously there are protests planned by fans with the intention of bringing even more attention to the situation and I think that it is admirable that fans are hoping to bring the whole place out of the crippling apathy that surrounds the club, but I do wonder about what’ll happen next.
That said, there’s nothing at all I can say about the fans who travelled down to Bristol yesterday other than well done, you mad, mad, mad bastards.
