According to reports from The Daily Mail, a trio of Premier League clubs are all interested in promising Wanderers youngster, Luca Connell.
Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley have all been linked with moves for Republic of Ireland U18 international.
The report from The Mail states:
“Premier League clubs Southampton, Brighton and Burnley could make a move for 17-year-old Bolton Wanderers starlet Luca Connell before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Connell made his first Bolton start on Friday night and set up their goal in a 2-1 FA Cup fourth round defeat at Bristol City. With the Championship club in financial trouble, they now have to decide whether to cash in on the Irish midfielder who would fetch around £1million.”
Luca Connell made his first for Wanderers on Friday night at Bristol City & earned widespread praise from fans and the media for his performance.
His cross to set up Mark Beevers for the opening goal was simply sublime & there have been calls for him to start in the league against Reading on Tuesday night.

Whether this rumour from The Mail has any truth to it remains to be seen, though I would hope that Bolton wouldn’t rush to sell such a promising player just as he is breaking into the first team. It would be great to see Connell progress at Wanderers.
