So Wanderers have been linked with a striker for the first time this window. According to the Scottish Sun, Wanderers are interested in Queen of the South forward, Lyndon Dykes.

The article from The Scottish Sun states:

“BOLTON could be set to challenge a number of Scots clubs for Lyndon Dykes. SunSport understands the English Championship side have watched the Queen of the South striker, 23, and have been impressed. Portsmouth have also scouted the hitman, who is out of contract at the end of the season and can agree a pre-contract deal now. Dykes has netted seven times in 32 games for Gary Naysmith’s play-off chasers and been a key provider for 34-goal Stephen Dobbie.”

Australian striker Lyndon Dykes has been with QOTS since 2016, scoring 20 goals ( & assisting 30 goals) in 116 games. Seemingly more of a provider than a proven goalscorer, Dykes would probably be too similar to Donaldson & Magennis.

Whether there is any truth to this rumour or not, it’s clear that Wanderers need a striker capable of scoring the goals to keep them in the Championship.
