Transfer Gossip: Bolton Wanderers linked again with Crystal Palace left back

First rumour of the window

Well we’ve got the first transfer rumour of the window & it’s a return of a rumour from the Summer.

According to reports from The Sun, Bolton Wanderers are interested in Crystal Palace left back, Pape Souare.

The paper is also linking on loan Everton midfielder Joe Williams with a £1 million move to Bristol City, stating that his loan deal might be cut short this window. Not good news. Having been a mainstay in midfield, it would be a blow for Bolton to lose him.

Pape Souare has played four times for Palace this season, but went off with a shoulder injury during their FA Cup tie against Grimsby Town yesterday. Not certain who severe that might turn out to be.

Souare previously missed eleven months of football after being involved in a horrific car accident back in 2016.

Wanderers don’t have the finances to go for players with perfect injury records at this time, that’s even if we can actually sign players.

The most pressing thing for Bolton is to make sure the Doidge deal goes through, having missed out on Remi Matthews due to the registration embargo.

If/when the embargo is lifted, will Wanderers will want to use another loan spot on a left back? That remains to be seen. But it has been a problem area this season.

Anyway, would Pape Souare be a good signing for Wanderers? Let us know in the comments below.
