Immediate Reaction: Accrington Stanley 7-1 Bolton Wanderers

Well.... my lowest point watching the whites.

We started well, with good build up play from back to front leading to verlinden skinning the Stanley left back and finding big D Murphy to slot into a gaping goal. What a start eh?

We then invited some pressure on ourselves. In fact, we put pressure on the guest list, Earl dragged down a Stanley attacker for a penalty with agent EFL (whatever the ref was called) more than happy to brandish a very harsh red card.

Duly, they scored, and again, and again etc.

Ultimately, the game could have gone a totally different way today with a different decision on the red card, but there is absolutely no excusing the clueless decision to wait until we’d conceded 3, to realise we needed to replace the dismissed Earl. Nor a few decisions after. Jason Lowe played right wing today with us down to 10, the less said about that the better.

Furthermore, there is absolutely no excusing the lack of bottle from the 10 men who stayed on. I left after the 6th goal, which was reminiscent of a sunday league goal. The boys didn’t want it and it showed.

A massive reaction needed against Wimbledon. A fucking huge one.
