Ahead of the January transfer window, we've had our first little bit of Bolton Wanderers gossip.
And it's come from across the Atlantic ocean.
According to Bermudian national paper The Royal Gazette, Wanderers are interested in a move for Cheltenham Town striker, Jonte Smith.
The Gazette states:
"Bolton Wanderers are believed to be among a number of clubs weighing up a move for Cheltenham Town forward Jonté Smith during the transfer window this month.
According to sources, Sky Bet League One side Bolton have shown an interest in signing the Bermudian when the transfer window opens on January 1.
Cheltenham are also understood to be keen on extending Smith’s stay at Jonny-Rocks Stadium beyond his short-term deal, which expires on January 2.
It is also believed that Scottish Premiership side Motherwell are monitoring Smith’s situation."
The Bermudian international has had a varied career, wearing the shirt of seventeen teams.
The 25 year old joined Cheltenham in October & has scored four times in fourteen games.
Not the greatest of returns, though Wanderers are limited in the transfer market & Smith would be available for free.
Who knows if there's any truth in this rumour.
Nothing's official until they're lifting a scarf above their head on Wanderers' official site.
