Player Ratings: Bolton Wanderers 0-4 Norwich City

We played, we lost. Here are my player ratings from the game:

Remi Matthews - 8

Yes a goalkeeper who has conceded 4 deserves an 8. He was easily our best player and without several good saves and a penalty save, the game would have been a lot worse.

Pawel Olkowski- 4.5

Showed some bright sparks attacking, however didn’t put in enough effort in defence. Regularly jogged back when Norwich were attacking.

David Wheater- 3.5

Did make some important tackles to be a little fair, hence the .5. School boy ball watching, too slow to turn, dreadful performance.

Mark Beevers- 3.5

See Wheater. Puts midfielders into trouble with wayward, awful passing.

Jason Lowe- 4.5

Distribution awful, however does at least try to put a shift in.

Craig Noone- 5.5

Played in the wrong position first half, probably ran the most. Our best attacking threat in the second half.

Callum Connolly - 4

Again played a couple of positions, put himself about however awful distribution and a real lack of quality when defending.

Josh Vela- 4.5

Perks up with the ball, shows attacking intent and positive passing, however doesn’t look interested in defending. A deserved half time sub.

Luke Murphy- 5

Gets too much stick. Gave away several fouls, however he is one of a few players who look for that forward pass. Puts a shift in.

Clayton Donaldson- 4

Held the ball up well at times, missed two glorious opportunities

Josh Magennis- 6

Might not always have the quality however did everything asked of him. Won everything in the air, put himself about well. Easily our best outfield player.

Joe Williams- 5

Looked early on that he may have been involved too soon after injury. Started slow, however got into the game and provided some bright spells.

Sammy Ameobi- 5

What can I say that hasn’t already been said. Could be a player in this league if he tried more. Had his usual try from 35 yards.

Will Buckley- N/A

Can’t say much, Parky is always bringing this man on.

Referee- 0

Worst referee I’ve ever seen. Made so many errors in favour of both Bolton and Norwich.
