According to the Bolton News a UK Consortium is currently close to buying Bolton Wanderers. The story, which has just been broken by Marc Iles, is that Ken Anderson has been holding talks for the past week in London and a deal has apparently been agreed in principle, it is now just subject to EFL approval.
Anderson has been trying to sell the club for the past year and admitted in January that he does not have the financial power to keep the club running. After a troubled three-year rein that has been punctuated by a series of financial problems and scandals on and off the pitch it would be some rare good news for the fans (and players) if this deal were to go ahead.
It remains to be seen who is heading the UK Consortium reported to be buying Wanderers and knowing how poor the EFL fit and proper persons checks can be hopefully it’s someone actually better than Ken. However, after a dismal day away to Sheffield United, Bolton fans will be praying that this news is actually true and that, for once, our luck has turned.
We will bring you further information as it’s provided.
