With several players out of contract & the likes of Pawel Olkowski and Sammy Ameobi handing in their notices, Wanderers are set for a mass exodus this Summer.
With the future of Luca Connell being rumoured about frequently, another talented youngster has been linked with a move away.
According to Peter O’Rourke from Football Insider, Celtic are interested in a deal for Bolton Wanderers’ academy forward, Ronan Darcy.
Football Insider state:
”Celtic are aiming to blow Chelsea away as they work on signing highly rated Bolton Wanderers forward Ronan Darcy, Football Insider understands.
Chelsea have made enquiries about Darcy after he caught the eye of their scouts, but an impending transfer ban means they are unable to sign players in the next two transfer windows.
A Celtic source has told Football Insider the club have been monitoring Darcy’s situation and they are ready to take advantage of the Premier League giant’s transfer ban by signing the 18-year-old for a nominal compensation fee.
Cross-border rules means Scottish clubs are able to sign players from England for a fraction of the amount clubs south of the border need to pay in compensation.”
Ronan Darcy made his debut for Wanderers during the final game of the season at Nottingham Forest, coming on a substitute for Craig Noone.
It looks like another youngster may be set to leave before we really see him play.
