You can’t keep Wanderers’ highly rated youngster Luca Connell out of the rumour mill.

Last week, Leeds United looked to be leading the race to sign him, now there is reportedly a new frontrunner.

According to Pete O’Rourke from Football Insider, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in young Luca.

The article states:

”Wolves are leading Tottenham in the chase to sign Bolton Wanderers youngster Luca Connell after opening talks over a deal, Football Insider understands.

Connell is highly-rated after breaking into the Bolton side this season and his impressive displays have brought him to the attention of a host of Premier League clubs.

The versatile 18-year-old, who can play in defence as well as midfield, made 12 appearances in all competitions for Bolton this season and he is regarded as one of the best young emerging talents in the country.

Wolves are determined to win the race for Connell and negotiations are ongoing between all parties as they look to lure him to Molineux.”

I’d love to see Connell stay and progress with Bolton, but it looks all the more likely that he’s moving on.

Wanderers are rumoured to be receiving a mere £300,000 in compensation.
