Happy Fixtures Day! Wanderers Face Tough Start to Life in League One

Meh

Ricardo Gardner of Bolton Wanderers challenges Shaun Newton of Charlton Athletic

So now we know.

Bolton Wanderers will face Wycombe Wanderers away on the opening day of the 2019/20 League One season on 3rd August.

Our first home game comes a week later against Coventry City. The all-important away game against those rats from Tranmere is another early gem on Saturday 17th August.

We face local minnows Bury at home on 7th September whilst also welcoming Sunderland to the Reebok two weeks later.

Wanderers welcome Blackpool and Rochdale in October, whilst also travelling to see Mark Little and his mates at Bristol Rovers. Should be fun.

November sees us welcome Fleetwood Town and travel to Accrington Stanley. The all-important Christmas fixtures see us face Wimbledon at home on the 7th, Peterborough away the week after that, Southend at home the week after that and then Sunderland away on Boxing Day. No thanks.

February sees Tranmere and Accrington Stanley make their way to the Bok in what could well be two lively encounters.

Fleetwood away is the highlight of a very boring March whilst, in exciting news, we face Bury away on my birthday 18th April. The season ends with Wanderers travelling to face Oxford United on May 3rd.

Thoughts? It’s very much a ‘meh’ league, isn’t it?
