Bolton Wanderers currently have six first team players in contract at this moment in time.

Erhun Oztumer has already been linked again with Charlton Athletic. So if he goes, that’s five.

Well another player in contract has been linked with a potential exit this morning.

According to PA journalist Nick Mashiter, goalkeeper Remi Matthews is wanted by a trio of clubs.

Hull City, Charlton Athletic & Ipswich Town have all been linked to Matthews.

East Anglian Daily Times reporter Andy Warren has also stated that Ipswich see Matthews as a potential replacement for Bartosz Bialkowski, should he depart Portman Road.

Remi Matthews’ time so far at Wanderers has been far from plain sailing.

After uprooting his family from Norfolk to Bolton, he saw his permanent deal terminated in January. Thankfully, it was all sorted & Matthews was able to return.

He then cemented himself as first choice goalkeeper, impressing (aside from that Leeds mistake) with a number of great saves to prevent heavier defeats for Bolton.

Time will tell whether any clubs act on their interest, but Bolton are at least in a position to ask for a decent transfer fee.
