According to reports from The Daily Mail, former Celtic & Hibs striker Anthony Stokes has rejected a contract offer from Bolton Wanderers in favour of a move to Turkey.

The Mail state:

”Former Arsenal, Sunderland and Celtic striker Anthony Stokes is joining Turkish club Adana Demirspor.

The much-travelled 30-year-old is scheduled to have a medical on Tuesday with the ambitious First Division club who also boast former Manchester Unitedmidfielder Anderson in their squad.

Stokes is expected to agree a two-year contract with an option for a further year.

His goalscoring reputation prompted interest from several English clubs including offers from ambitious Salford City and the prospective new owners of Bolton Wanderers, but Stokes is poised to sign for Adana in southern Turkey on Tuesday.”

It’s been reported that Wanderers have handed trials former Blackburn Rovers winger Craig Conway & former Preston North End winger Ben Pringle.

Hopefully the deal will get done and we’ll see a flurry of activity in the next two weeks.
