According to reports in todays The Sun, former Bury & Sheffield United chairman Terry Robinson has been linked with a potential role at Bolton Wanderers.

The Sun state that Football Ventures ‘could bring Robinson in as Director of football, with Robinson seen as the public face for Football Ventures’.

Robinson was chairman of Bury for twenty years from 1979 to 1999, before joining the board as Sheffield United in 2002.

Four years later he was made chairman, before leaving for the role of academy director at Stoke in 2011.

Robinson has also held the position of Director of football at Leicester City between 2013 and 2014.

Terry Robinson’s name might sound familiar to a few of you, as he has actually worked for Wanderers fairly recently.

He was brought in at the end of Eddie Davies’ ownership to handle our transfer activity in the January 2016 window, before leaving alongside Trevor Birch when the takeover was completed.

Keith Cousins was also linked with the same role recently, although it was revealed that he has actually been working in a consultancy role for the administrators since May.
