So two clubs who at one time in the not to distant past had regular top flight football are now fighting it out in League One. Only Bolton Wanderers vs Bury, should it happen, will be a game with a greater degree of omnishambles on show than this.
This is Bolton’s first home game of the season following a 2-0 loss away at Wycombe Wanderers. It is not entirely clear who will be turning out for the Whites today meaning we are set for another eagerly awaited team sheet.
Coventry City played their first ‘home game’ last week at Birmingham City’s St Andrews. They ran out 1-0 winners against Southend United thanks to a Zain Westbrooke goal.
Team News
From a Bolton perspective who knows? Expect a healthy number of young academy players to be making up the numbers once more.
On loan Josh Earl is definitely out with an injury which makes it unlikely he will play for Bolton again unless his loan is extended into the second half of the season. Yoan Zouma went off against Wycombe with an injury but it is hoped this was not severe.
Coventry handed debuts to five summer signings last weekend. They utilised a 4-3-3 formation with Amadou Bakayoko leading the line . I would pass further comment but none of their players mean anything too me and I cannot be bothered to research them.
Match Odds
Bolton win - 12/1
Draw - 9/2
Coventry win - 1/4
Match Prediction
Part of me is tempted to think we will draw but that feels far too optimistic. I think we will lose again, but keep it close. 1-0 Coventry.
