Yesterday, Phil Parkinson officially left Bolton Wanderers after handing in his notice last week, bringing an end to a rollercoaster three years with the club.
From the moment he walked into the club, he faced an uphill task. In his debut season, he guided Wanderers to automatic promotion to The Championship, despite the fact the club was straddled with a transfer embargo.
He followed that up the following year by keeping Bolton up in dramatic fashion. That goal from Aaron Wilbraham will live long in the minds of all fans who were there or watching elsewhere.
Though much can be said about his tactical decisions, the way he has handled the last six months with the utmost professionalism in spite of the complete shitstorm is admirable.
In the longest tenure since Big Sam, Parky provided fans with some brilliant memories which ensures he will be fondly remembered by the majority of Wanderers fans.
We asked for your favourite memories on twitter, so here they are:
Port Vale away. Bradford away too - his subs changed the game and got us an unexpected point.

Everything he did for the club. I was never around to see the big sam era for the likes of jay jay and I started watching them in 2006 in that time Ive seen 5 managers not one of them gave me the best times apart from Parkinson his tactics were trash but the man loved the club.

Celebration against Oxford.
Peterborough and Forest games.
His comments about putting smiles back on people’s faces when he first took over then going onto achieve promotion under a transfer embargo.

The Forest game will live with me forever, his celebrations against Oxford are great to watch, but his first presser when he was announced, you could see the pride he had and he knew how big a club he was joining
